Well constructed; excellent value for the price paid

Intex Mariner 3: A lot to like for the selling pice. EZ to assemble and use. All components represent quality for the price paid. Everything works as advertised and as it is supposed to. The inflatable V hull is a nice feature. Orrs and orr locks work fine. The additional  orr locks that secure the oars when not used afloat are a very nice feature, Should U wissh to use an anchor...  suggest  using the boat handles  front or back)  The Inflatable seat cushins are well constructed, are comfortable and  fit perfecctly when used as directed.  My boat held air perfectly forthe one week test run before disassembly during. The provided manual air pump works well but it take some getting used to.   Adding a trolling motor would be easy and I just may do that at some future date. A water tight pouch and battery bag round ot features.  Kudos to VM innovations who performed beautifully and had the packaged boat at my door overnight .  The one feature that I have not warmed up to are the rod holders. They protrude in a manner that makes it questionable to store the boat bottom up on a flat surface (i.e.during aa rein storm or tying it down to the covered truck bed.)  I  see the rod holders useful only while rowing the boat which is personal preference. Dont plan on using Mariner 3 for3 fisherman ... three for transport/ fun on the lake it will be fine.  For fishing its a perfect one person float and probably "OK"to  tight for two depending on the amount of gear taken. The slatted "hard" floor works fine when assembled but it is heavey to stow and or carry. Given the quality of construction for this "boat in a bag" and placing my negatives aside, the Mariner 3 may be the best offering out there for an inflatable. The boat will work just fine for the purposes intended and I am happy with the purchase.

Exceeded my expectations!

This is my second review ever, hope it helps someone out. This boat exceeded my expectations. I have owned the "Sevylor" fish master 280 for the past 4 years and I wore it out (not the fish hunter, google it). So I was looking for another inexpensive boat to take into a remote lake (at least 6 times a year). I took a chance with this boat and it did everything I needed it to.   Pros, Price, it is a really good value for what you get. Other than not having the transom like some of the other boats out there it is good quality and tracks well because of the inflatable keel. For 300 less. The material is tough and ridge when inflated. Plastic slated floor with PVC cover. The "Sevylor" had a wood floor, and wood and water don't get along. You can stand up in this boat, not walk around but stand up (very stable). Everything needed to go out on the water as soon as you get the boat. If you don't mind rowing. Pump excellent! The double action aired up the boat fast and is packable.   Cons, The plastic floor is heavy, the hole boat is heavy. My wife left it on the door step after she tried to pick it up.Guess you can't have strength and be pack-able. ("Sevylor" 50 LB) vs (Mariner 73+) Air seats, they sit you low not bad if you are headed out for a couple hours, but all day fishing not so much. I bought the motor mount and with a trolling motor it is hard to get comfortable while driving. It is way back behind the boat even with the handle extended on the trolling motor you have to reach for it.   Cons on both the inflatable boats I have owed, They loose air when cold, or sag in the water so you have to add air. Also when they go from cold to hot they get reel tight, and I end up letting some air out because the last thing I want is for a seem to come apart (I may just be paranoid but the water is 40°). They are hard to fold/ role when cold.  Wet, online they show videos of them rolling up Air up Boats and putting them in the back of a cars. Great if you live by a grass sounded lake and you can let the boat dry off. But not me they get muddy and wet, it's the last thing you want in the back of your car (they also get you muddy and wet when rolling).   I hope that I can get another 4 years out of this boat. Hope this helps someone else out.
