The Americana 3-Zone Electric Tabletop Grill runs on a 1500-watt UL-listed and CUL-listed heating element with thermostatic control, so it reaches and holds your temperature from any standard household outlet.

The heating element moves into three positions, which is where the three zones come from. Set it flat for even, all-over grilling, step it into a multi-zone layout to cook medium, rare, and well-done at the same time, or raise it to the vertical position for rotisserie cooking. The rotisserie itself is sold separately, so you can add it whenever you want to slow-roast, while the 200 square inch surface covers everyday grilling on its own.

A window in the lid lets you keep an eye on food without lifting the hood, so the heat stays where it belongs and you are not guessing at doneness. When the cook is over, a grease cup on the back of the pedestal base catches drippings and lifts out for cleanup, so there is not much to wipe down before the next time.

The whole grill is built for outdoor use and kept compact: 17 inches high, 28 inches wide, and 16 inches deep, at 26 pounds. It sits on a tabletop, counter, or stand, and it is light enough to carry out for a cookout and put away afterward. Finished in red and black, it works on a patio, deck, or balcony where a full-size grill would be too much. Because it stays compact and runs on a standard outlet, it is also an easy fit for balconies, campsites with power, and tailgates where a charcoal setup is not practical.
