Many noted it "works wonderfully" in gardens and landscapes. One concern: the felt backing's longevity when wet is uncertain.

It's felt backed. I wasn't expecting that.

I've used a LOT of woven fabric in my garden and on my farm but I have never bought nor encountered this plastic fabric with a felt backing. I don't know how it's going to stand up or even last for 20 years when this felt is going to become wet and heavy with mud after only one season's usage. I won't be able to comment on its longevity until I've used it.I like that it comes NOT folded. Sometimes when you buy the 6' or 8' wide rolls they fold it in half before rolling it so then you have this crease that you have to work with to get it to come out so the fabric lies flat. This isn't creased nor bent just felt backed. You get a 4' wide roll of it.Thickness is good. The felt adds to that so I figure it's part of the 4.1 oz. weight that they advertise. The stuff I normally use is only 3-3.1 ounces so it doesn't feel as heavy as this one. Both work. The thickness is more about longevity and being able to re-use the fabric over and over year after year. It can be quite an investment to buy a big roll so you really want something that'll stand the test of time.As with all weed barriers that I've used it's usually marked with stripes every 1' so it's easy to measure out if you have to cut it.Again I won't be able to confirm nor test this until next season when I start to use it but I'm wondering if the felt backing will keep it from fraying as it tends to do once you cut it. In the past I've had to use a torch to seal/melt the edges so that the little black strings didn't go all over the place and get on my equipment or around my plants. I just hope the felt isn't prone to catching on fire because if it is then I'll only be able to use this fabric in places where I don't have to cut it.

Great

This barrier fabric works out perfect for me. I like to grow my own fruits and vegetables at home. I have about half an acre dedicated to this so a barrier to protect affect weeds helps me out a whole lot. The fabric is good and it's noticably keeping the weeds from sprouting out

Works Great!

I’ve tried many different brands of landscape weed barrier fabric over the years. This was my first time using DeWitt 20 year 4.1oz 4’x250’ Home and Commercial Weed Barrier Fabric and let me tell you I was not disappointed. Not at all. I decided to do my fall mums in a new garden and used the DeWitt weed barrier fabric. It was easy to install and use. It did exactly as it was supposed too and it’s been a little over a month and not one weed has managed to show up. I’m extremely impressed because the other stuff I’ve used in the past within a month I was having to pull weeds. The quality is fantastic as well. My husband and I couldn’t be happier with our new no weeds flower garden. I absolutely can’t wait until next spring to redo all of my gardens with it.

Best Weed Blocker

DeWitt 20 Year 4.1oz 4' x 250' Home & Commercial Landscape Weed Barrier Fabric is the best weed block landscaping material that I've used! It's commercial grade that initially reassured me that it would do the job. I have been disappointed by cheaper versions that allowed grass and weeds to sprout within a couple of weeks. If I'm going the extra mile to buy a weed blocker fabric it needs to do the job or I just wasted my money and still need to spend time pulling weeds. This is a really BIG roll! It was enough to place around our front yard beddings and all trees plus enough left over to use in our backyard and especially our vegetable garden next spring. The single roll is a monster sized 4 by 250-Foot Woven Weed Barrier Fabric Ground Cover from DeWitt is woven with a 4.1-ounce polypropylene fabric this landscape fabric resists punctures tears and weed growth as well as UV rays so it lasts year after year making it an affordable landscaping necessity. It's designed to allow air water and nutrients to pass through the fabric but not weeds so it enables plants to grow and prosper without being choked out by undesirable weeds. This ground cover is great for greenhouses outdoor landscaping displays and garden beds. I like that it has striped alignment lines printed on the fabric every 12 inches to help with plant alignment.I have some heritage plants and an old man Sego palm in my front yard. It's a monthly battle to keep the grass and weeds away from these precious plants. Wanting something that really works like they used to in the old days of weed blocking fabric I can't believe that this product is available to do the job. If you're serious about your gardening or landscaping and want a weed blocker that truly works DeWitt Home & Commercial Landscape Weed Barrier Fabric is the one to get.

Nice quality

This roll is large enough for most garden projects. I like how it's rated for 20 years. It's a lot of work to clear the ground level it lay the fabric plant the plants and then mulch over. You don't really want to redo that often. The material seems to be quality and I expect it to hold up over time.

Works Very Well in Rock Mulch and Flower Beds!

This Dewitt 20 Year weed barrier is a great way to stop those pesky weeds from popping up! Works great in areas where you're going to lay rock in beds where you're going to have plants. It's easy to cut and lay it out; you just lay it according to the shape of the bed(s) and use fabric stakes to keep them solid and secure to the ground. Hoping this lasts for as long as it says and keeps unwanted weeds from growing! Thanks!!!

Working so far

We were looking for something where we don't have to put chemicals down as we try to avoid this whenever possible. I think time will tell if it lasts as long as expected but so far it has been good. The fabric feels tough but it seems that water is able to get through the barrier.

Works very well

This landscape fabric has been working wonderfully. I have been using it along the edges of my house because I have a small strip of people rock that I've really been having a hard time keeping weeds from growing out of every book and cranny. This fabric has worked so very well with keeping the weeds from growing up through my paver rocks and alongside the perimeter of the house.

Very nice

This weed barrier cloth roll includes a good amount of yardage to cover a large garden bed. It is very easy to lay down and feels like good quality. It seems like it will last longer than similar products you would buy at a Home and Garden store. We will see how it holds up but so far I am impressed.

Excellent Barrier

This weed barrier was easy to put down. The material is nice and thick which makes it a little tricky to cut but I think that will work in my favor in the long run. I was able to do both my front and backyard garden beds with a little left over. Its been down 3 weeks now and nothing is popping up.

Thick to stop the weeds

This is very thick and easy to install. I anticipate I will not have to battle any weeds for some time. The roll came nicely packaged. It didnt rip when installing stakes like other brands do. will be our go too for any more landscaping projects

Professional quality

This landscaping fabric for weed control is heavy duty and made to last. It's versatile and can be used anywhere you need help with weeds. This is a big roll but easy to lay out and cut to size. With some sharp scissors this cuts like fabric. It did roll up alittle at the edges but not a big deal. This makes for a great barrier to help keep flowers and vegetables looking good without the hassle of weeding. Overall Very impressed with the professional grade quality of this product.
