Ground pool to help cut down on hand skimming. Works great! The only issue is the basket handle when wanting to empty it- you have to reach in among the bugs to pull it up and out to empty. My husband added a zip tie and that helped!

Well Worth The Money

This has been the best thing I have ever bought to help keep my pool clean. I was shocked that 12 hours later, the debris from the surface of the water was gone. It means there is less to sink to the bottom and has turned my pool vacuuming time into nearly nothing. The skimmer basket is very easy to lift out and dump. Set up was 5 minutes or less. I will definitely buy another if something should happen to this one.

intex skimmer

I have this in my intex aboveground pool connected to a 2800 gph sand filter pump and just about nothing gets by it the 1 1/2" hose supplys all the water my pump demands.it can be a little hard to get it to float straight up but with a little fiddleing it works fine.

A Nice Time-saver

We've only had this a couple of weeks, but it has been a great time-saver for us. We no longer need to do a lot of manual skimming with the net, and with items being pulled from the surface of the water, there is less debris sinking to be vacuumed.
The ONLY downside using this with our above ground pool is that we cover the pool each night, so we have to attach and remove the auto-skimmer each day. But, still much less time than it takes to skim with the net.
This is another one of those, "why did we wait so long to get one of these," situations. :)

Great!

I purchased this skimmer to help keep all the leaves, insects and trash from clogging my pool. Before I had the skimmer, I had to us our pole skimmer several times a day to keep it clean. This skimmer, once setup, does all that work for me. The only thing I wish it had was a 90 degree elbow on the bottom, so that the hose did not pull on it. It would be easier to setup that way. But I'm still very happy with it.

NEEDS ADDED WEIGHT

Unit is well built but the hose is so stiff it causes the skimmer to rise up out of the water. I added a small piece of broken patio block that weight maybe 1 lb. to the bottom of the skimmer basket. Now it works perfectly.

Great skimmer

Works great!  Highly recommend for anyone with an above ground pool.  Simply can't beat the price and ease of use and installation. 
To my surprise, this deluxe skimmer was far better quality and larger size than the one that originally came with my intex pool---Love it!!
The best feature to these skimmers is it self adjusts to the water levels in your pool.  Comes with adapters for just about any type of pool.
