Easy to inflate/deflate and transport. Common praise: sturdy construction, fishing rod holders, ample space. Good for fishing and relaxing out on the pond

This is the perfect sturdy little boat you can fit up to 4 people but it works great for 3 with extra room for a cooler /tackle box etc. It comes with a hand pump but I recommend an electric air pump it makes it quicker to blow up the boat and the seating. The seats are just set down in there but you really don't need to have them secured down the plus is it helps if you're more comfortable sitting a little further back to row. The setup was very easy and the valves are numbered in the order to fill it took under 10 minutes. I would also recommend putting in the floor slats before blowing up as it's much easier to set in place. The oars are light but they work and have a spot to secure them to the boat. There is even a setup for a small motor which is a nice touch. This works great for going out on the pond (and for fishing it has 2 fishing rod holders) or even as a dinghy to go along with your bigger boat.

A Fishing Husband’s Dream

This boat surprised me. When it arrived the box doesn’t give the size justice. When fully inflated the boat is close to 11 feet long and 5 feet wide. It holds up to 1100lbs so I would say 3 grown men would fit comfortably with their coolers and tackle box. A floor is included basically covered slats but it does allow you to stand up and walk in the boat without feeling off balance. There are 5 different sections to inflate one being the keel which helps with the floor/balance and durability of the boat. My husband loves using this and our 2 year old will enjoy it for years to come. As you see in the pictures it’s easy to transport especially with a bigger SUV or truck. If you don’t have a bigger vehicle it can be easily deflated and put in the included carrying bag. It doesn’t take long to inflate comes with a high output pump which blows up on the up and down pump movements. It also has deflate on the pump to help you crank out that air and put back into the bag. This boat is perfect for the lake or river and an affordable option! You also have the capability to mount a small outboard or trolling motor it’s literally everything you could want to fish locally.

Well crafted!

I am so excited to take this boat out on the water!!! This company is highly rated and recommended for having good quality products and this boat is no exception. I can’t speak to how it will handle on water as it’s still freezing for the next month or so in Maine but reviews look great and I can tell it’s a durable well made product.

Good dinghy

This was so fun! We used it on the river as a dinghy off the main boat. Docking a star because it was insanely heavy. Pumping it up was very easy though and the oars are sturdy.

Its a good raft

The Mariner 4 person inflatable raft is a high quality raft. Its double layering makes it hard to pop and feel good. The raft claims to be able to fit four but is more suitable for three plus whatever you want to bring with. It was very easy to assemble but the instructions are not very clear and as far as I could tell doesn’t even mention the hard plastic floor. But it was very easy to inflate and deflate as well as to store in the included bag.Overall Id recommend the raft although make sure to find it on sale for the best deal.

Works Super Great with SailboatsToGo sail kit!

As an inflatable sailboat, with the addition of a SailboatsToGo sail kit, this boat is a barrel of fun. It sails amazingly well. Don't let the tubby appearance fool you.
This is a heavy boat, so I recommend also getting an Ozark Trail Marine Pro as an alternate, lighter hull (same sail kit fits) for when you have fewer passengers and/or greater need for portability. Shipping weight is listed as 91 pounds, but that must include a lot of accessories and packaging. The actual inflatable part is in the low 40s of lbs and the roll-up floor (which must be used -- the boat will not work without it) is low-to-mid 30s of lbs.
The oars that come with the boat are short and fragile, but the sail kit comes with at least one much better oar and can be bought with 2. These oars are used at the rear for steering when sailing but can also be moved up to the oarlocks when rowing. They are long and sturdy.

Great for rafting

Purchased for rafting down the American river which is a class 2-3 river.  Raft held up great. We had 2 adults, 1 teenager and 1 10 year old with us.  It was big enough for the 4 of us with only a small ice chest and backpack for gear.  We put a trolling motor of the back which made it so we really didn't have to paddle much.  The oars/paddles are not the greatest, so I am glad we had a motor.

Buying my 2nd Mariner 4 now.

After research I bought a Mariner 4, 4 years ago.  I used it to float the entire 250 miles of the Meramec River from the farthests upstream put in to where it flows into the Mississippi River.  The raft handled those 250 miles from its ankle deep start to its wide, shallow end.  We ran into countless logs, boulders, debris and drug it over countless gravel bars.  We floated many of the 15 or so mile sections mutliple times and took it fishing many times too.  So I have no idea how many miles we put on it.  It held up great for the first 2 years.  It would occasionally get small rips and holes but I would just patch them with off the shelf patches and they held just fine.  It finally ripped a quarter inch leak down in the crease of the inside seam where the wall meets the bottom of the boat.  This rip was my fault for over inflating it for 2 years and being rough with the floor installation and not cleaning out the rocks well.I've learned my lesson on not overinflating, cleaning out the rocks and sand well, and being generally more gentle with the boat.  If my first Mariner 4 lasted 2 years with me being inexperienced and so rough with it I'm sure this one will last much longer now that I know its limitations.

More room for two, and I like this motor mount. The rdged floor makes it more comfortable to move around while fishing.Ican put this boat inside my 5th wheel thus don't need a extra trailer.

Disappointed.

We have had an Intex Seahawk for over 10 years and have enjoyed it very much.  We needed another inflatable boat so looked for an Intex again.  Found this one and it looked like it might be even better.  It is very sturdy and safe and would probably accomodate a small motor very well.  However, we just row and this model was very difficult to manuever.  The oar locks are poorly designed and make rowing at a consistent pace hard since they keep collapsing.  The oar holders on our Seahawk are just stand up loops to put the oar through and are far superior.  The hard floor was nice as it keeps the persons in the boat drier.  However, the added weight of the hard floor made it more difficult for us to carry the boat.  Where we go requires us to carry the boat about a quarter of a mile.  It takes two strong adults to carry the boat that distance and would be difficult for children at even shorter distances.

Loved it until...

Arrived quickly.  Directions were a little unclear for certain things.  Pumped up fast.  Oars worked well.  Don't think it can fit 4 adults.  We had 2 adults and 2 younger children - that was just enough room.  Loved it until it sprung a leak on our first use.  Large, rounded rock in the river ripped a 5 inch tear right along the seam on the bottom - - seemed odd to be right on the seam and the width of the boards.  We trying to decide if we should return it or repair it???  Wondering if the same thing will just keep happening?  We were barely trickly down the river so the collide with the rock was very slow.  We like the lining on the bottom that goes through the middle...just hoping it was across the entire bottom of the boat.

my boat

It's a handy little boat that can, deflated, fit into the bed of my truck and does not need a trailer.
It would be nice if the boat could have a fitting adaptation to enable the use of the common vehicle-type air pump.

Great Raft but...

Now dont get me wrong Intex is an amazing company and the mariner 4 is awesome but dont buy this boat if your going in a creek its meant for rivers and lakes. Imade the mistake of going down the brandywine in this which is anywhere from 4 inches to 10 feet. I broke off one of the oars lock and ripped several holes in the bottom which made it swamp slowly as long  as the water is 4 feet the whole time you should be good if not grab the seahawk 2 which i own 2 of and they did great. The k1 challengers i bought were great in the creek just not this boat.
