This chicken nesting box set provides an observatory for brooding baby chicks up to 4 or 5 weeks old. Chicks can move between the brooder section with solid metal walls and the section with wire grid walls to warm up or cool down as needed. The wire mesh floor has 5/16-inch grid openings, which are just right for small chick feet; the dropping pan should be placed inside the brooder covering the mesh for the chicks' first couple of weeks. Once the chicks are larger, the dropping pan slides in and out under the wire mesh floor for easy removal and cleaning. Easily assemble the frame using a flathead screwdriver and the included hardware.

The little giant galvanized steel chick brooder is great. Easy to assemble and has a built in litter drop pan for easy clean up. The quality is fantastic. The height is smaller than expected but for my kiddos it’s the perfect height for them to keep an eye on the chicks. Very pleased with this item.

Just what I needed!

The Little Giant Galvanized Chick Brooder Box Enclosure with Litter Drop Pan is what I needed. I like that it’s made out of galvanized steel so it will withstand the elements and not rust. It was very easy to assemble. No assistance was required when putting it together. The size is ok. I wish it stood a little taller. Ventilation is adequate. There is also an arm built in on the corner that I can attach a heat lamp to. The heat lamp is not included and is an additional purchase. The litter tray just sits on rails. It would have been nice to be able to lock it into place.The manufacturer needs to improve the box and packaging. The tape was broken and the box wasn’t held together when it arrived. Thankfully there was no damage and no parts were missing. Some of the pieces had rubbed together which caused some paint scuffing but your mileage may vary if you pick one up in person. Overall this will meet my needs. 9/10!

The little giant galvanized steel chick brooder box is great. My favorite thing about it is the built in litter drop pan for very easy cleaning!!

Quality

Just received and put together our little giant chicken brooder box. The quality is substantial. It is a tad shorter than some others and smaller after putting h in feeders and waterers. The quality is great but my only complaint being there is no way to hold up the heat lamp so we had to find a way to secure it ourselves. The setup was quick and easy and it will do a great job for a few babies the first couple weeks!
