At the core of the rod is PENN’s proprietary SLS3 blank construction, which uses inner and outer spiral wrap layers of carbon fiber combined with alternating longitudinal carbon and glass layers. This advanced construction creates a thin-diameter blank that remains lightweight without sacrificing power or durability. The result is a rod that delivers true lifting strength, controlled recoil, and dependable performance under heavy pressure.

With an Extra Heavy power rating, Moderate action, and a massive 80–150 pound line rating, this rod is built for demanding offshore fishing applications. An 8–24 ounce lure rating allows anglers to confidently work heavy jigs and baits while maintaining control during the fight. The Moderate action helps distribute load evenly, reducing fatigue and improving fish-fighting leverage.

Premium components complete the build, including Fuji HB-Series and K-Series guides with SiC inserts for smooth line flow and durability with heavy braided line.
