I have purchased many brands of coco coir in the past and this one is by far one of my favorites. I have a 2 year old sulcata tortoise and we use this mixed with top soil as his substrate in his enclosure. It has a great feel to it and help retain the proper amount of moisture needed.

Works great

I needed to use just under 10 gallons of water in the container after 30 minutes I pulled the bricks apart so the inside layers could absorb water and 30 minutes later I was ready to break up the coco coir. I mixed it with regular dirt and I found it holds more moisture than the dirt did previously before using coco coir. I also like that it drains well and easily retains water. Just make sure you don’t use too much coco coir if you are mixing with other mediums because it may end up holding too much water in that scenario. Overall I am satisfied with how easily it expands and was to use and with the way my vegetables are growing.
